What’s something most people don’t know about you?
In 1736, my direct descendants were the first settlers of the town I currently live in.
What are one or two hobbies you enjoy?
I love listening to music and playing music. I also play weekly games of Dungeons and Dragons.
Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself.
I type over 100 words-per-minute.
I'm in a band.
I've written a book.
What's your favorite piece of tech?
While I don't use it in a professional degree, I absolutely love my Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. I am constantly amazed at how this technology has advanced through the years.
Do you prefer in-person or troubleshooting from afar?
While I enjoy doing both, I think I prefer in-person by a hair. It's really nice being able to put a face to the name (and voice!) of the people I work with every day.
Favorite thing about YOUR IT environment.
I love my mechanical keyboard! While it can be a bit "clacky", I'll never go back to a regular keyboard.
What is currently on your desk?
I am rocking a Dunder Mifflin mousepad, with my wireless headset sitting on its rack next to my Latviija mug. I'm surrounded by four monitors, two computers, and a couple Han Solo bobble heads staring at me.
How did you start your career in IT?
I grew up building computers with my parents. I originally was going to university for a different major and got a side gig as a student computer technician. I soon found that I enjoyed going into work for my part-time job more than the classes for my major, so I pursued a full time position and am currently working towards my Bachelor's degree in the IT field.
