In this module, learn about the data management practices and policies that enable you to set the foundation for protecting information through its lifecycle.

## Segment 1: Lifecycle Perspective

In this video, learn how information management means managing the full lifecycle of information—from collection to destruction.

## Segment 2: Policies — The Rules of the Game

In this video, learn about the policies that will guide your organization's information management and data handling practices. We'll cover the basic policies and introduce formats for providing these in a readable, accessible way.

## Segment 3: Notices — Policies for the Public

In this video you'll learn about the public-facing policies, or notices, that are becoming increasingly necessary for privacy compliance. You'll learn about the basic notices that you want to make available from  your website and any data collection point.

## Segment 4: Protect — Data Security

In this video, you'll learn about the basics of data security in the age of cyber threats. Protecting information — particularly digital information—is where information management and IT must collaborate. We cover the basics, so that you can start asking the right questions about protection.

## Segment 5: Please Delete Me

In this video, you'll see how compliance with something such as the basic data deletion request illustrates how the different processes come together — from inventory and mapping to secure transfer.
