What it's all about

If you've ever scrambled to replace a funder who pulled back, stretched unrestricted dollars to cover a restricted shortfall, or gone into a board meeting without a clear picture of where your cash actually stands — this session is for you.

We'll walk through what fundraising resiliency actually looks like in practice: not just raising more, but building the reporting, compliance, and planning infrastructure that keeps your organization stable when revenue gets unpredictable.

You'll Learn:

  • What's actually shifting in federal funding, tax incentives, and donor behavior; and what it means for your organization right now

  • Why "raise more" isn't a resiliency strategy — and what is

  • The warning signs that your fundraising revenue is more fragile than it looks

  • The questions every nonprofit leader should be asking their finance team this month

When:

September 17th | 2 PM ET

Kelly Martin

Kelly Martin is Director of Growth at Carey & Co, where she leads business development and sales strategy to expand services for the nonprofit and social impact organizations Carey & Co serves. With more than 15 years in and around the nonprofit sector—as a fundraiser, a funder, and an operator—Kelly brings an all-sides-of-the-table perspective to growth, pairing an instinctive understanding of the back-office challenges nonprofit leaders face with a relationship-first approach to meeting them.

Kelly’s career spans corporate and foundation relations, corporate philanthropy, and business development across organizations including the Center for American Progress, The Wilderness Society, GlobalGiving, and EARTHDAY.ORG, where she managed major partnerships, raised significant funding for global causes, and built long-term donor relationships. More recently she has led go-to-market strategy and business development for local economic development teams and early-stage businesses. At Carey & Co, she connects nonprofit leaders with the senior financial, operational, and organizational expertise needed to move their organizations forward, while allowing them more bandwidth to focus on their mission.

Kelly is based in Alexandria, Virginia and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from James Madison University, and a Certificate in Business Marketing from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. She believes the best growth is built on trust, curiosity, and asking the right questions—and that mission-driven organizations deserve a partner who leads with all three.
